Yeah but you got to remember the pro's flick their cue on tough shots like that. As long as it was accurate it should be fine with the flick. If you watch ronnie and judd they both flick their cue on shots that require alot of spin whether its top, bottom or side.
Forget people who say you need to stop flicking your cue in the air after your shots. If it works for you then stick with it . Alex Higgins had a different playing style and that worked for him . Stick to what works for you . We all play the game differently and you play it well .

Have you tried a looser grip to stop the cue going in the air?
And a light or polished white
