At the 8th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards, Daniel Day Lewis and Jack Nicholson both won for Best Actor – Lewis for “Gangs of New York” and Nicholson for “About Schmidt”. Salma Hayek presents and Robin Williams (the only Best Actor Nominee not to receive an award) gives his commentary in this funny podium moment. The 8th Critics’ Choice Awards were given on 17 January 2003 to honor the finest achievements in 2002 filmmaking.
Robins ability to just take over the whole show was incredible. The man was 5000 steps abover everyone else in the room. You can see he was never phased by other celebrities; but took his opportunities to set a room on fire. We will never see this type of man again….

Seriously tho, Salma is such an amazingly beautiful woman, it can't be understated. Not just for her… "hands" (lol), her humor is wonderful. She's so sweet and genuine and very, very cute. Absolutely adore her. She's so perfect. ♥️♥️♥️

I walked out of Gangs of New York. It was as if the Director just went to an abattoir and took trucks of blood away to the movie set and yelled Action! I don’t know why such Directors are adored and admired in the US. It was probably someone like Scorsese. I should simply avoid all his films……and yes, everyone should thank Weinstein (for what I don’t know). Isn’t he in prison? 23 + 16 yr sentences for crimes against women.
Jack Nicholson came up unprepared with a speech, so he asked Robin Williams to make a speech for him instead because Robin always made Jack laugh.
If the Oscars were allowed to be like this then their ratings would be through the roof.
Kathy Bates should have won the Oscar just for having the courage to do that hot tub scene.😅😅
