Okay, we need to talk about what just went down on High Stakes Poker. Nik Airball, Matt Berkey, Rob Yong, Jennifer Tilly, Lynn Ji, and Eric Persson sat down for an epic live stream cash game. However, the fans had some strong opinions about the outcome. There was also an incident over at Hustler Casino Live, where Phil Hellmuth blasted off and abruptly left the game. Let’s jump into it.
I'm surprised Doug didn't mention how passive aggressive Rob was towards him. It was strange, like they had a rocky history that Doug wasn't aware of. I'm assuming Rob is friends with someone that doesn't like Doug.
Nick Airball has shown himself to be a loud mouth and a bully. He is also, at best, a mediocre poker player. I liked Nick Aairball after he was on the Nick Vertucci Show and your pod cast Doug. But now, I am on the side of Matt Berkey who has kept his cool throughout being tormented by Nick and others.
Haven't seen the stream yet but it looks from the clips that Airball is coked out of his noodle. I will say that of any poker player on the planet he's the hardest to watch. I'm going to have to see why Matt is so disliked?
I watched the entire stream and thought it was hilarious. The only thing I didn’t like was Nic Airball and Lin. Nic is a douche and became a mega douche as he got white girl wasted. It was cringe. You could tell at the end that everyone wanted to leave because it was just bad. My issue with Lin is that she played maybe 10 hands in a 7 hour stream and was cackling/ fake laughing the ENTIRE stream. Players like her should not be in those games. At least airball for all his faults gives action.
The fact that people actually go to Twitter to whine about watching a poker game blows my mind. Its a poker game…You are watching a poker game. These people that are complaining, have they ever played live poker.
For my taste, I am not a fan of watching high stakes poker when everyone seems to be having an overly great time. Sounds stupid I know. But, it’s a bit more enjoyable to watch for me to see the best players actually sweat over the amount of money being played or etc. If the players are just laughing and having a ball the whole time it gives the impression that nothing is on the line and we are all just watching a home game with friends. Just my opinion.
The high-stakes poker they're talking about was horrible to watch, the players wouldn't shut up and they kept talking over each other about nonsense. I miss Gabe Kaplan as an announcer
As a former Audio engineer on the show, it’s more up to the director/producer. They tell us to keep to audio up or down. They probably wanted that good banter pumped high. Now as for a compressor (not a noise gate) that should definitely be used for the laughing and yelling. This was awesome to watch and I miss working there so much 😂

He has the skill, he just does not have the money to play high stakes cash game. It is understandable.
